A complete eco-friendly refurbishment and extension, combining solar power, heat-recovery ventilation, and rainwater harvesting.
This project involved the complete refurbishment and transformation of a two-storey house into a modern, energy-efficient family home. The works included the construction of a large double-storey rear extension and a single-storey side extension, creating substantial additional living space while seamlessly blending with the original property. Sustainability was at the heart of this project: we installed high-performance solar panels, a Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) system, and a 5,000-litre underground rainwater harvesting tank beneath the patio, supplying the garden irrigation system, toilet flushing, and washing machine. The property was built to an exceptionally high standard of airtightness and successfully passed a strict air permeability test. The result is a spacious, contemporary home that combines outstanding craftsmanship with sustainable building practices, delivering lower running costs, improved comfort, and a reduced carbon footprint.
